Job Description
Nalco Champion Energy Services has an immediate opening for a Lab Technician 2 at its district facility located in Dickinson, ND. This position will provide analytical testing in wet chemistry and instrumentation laboratories, as well as assist laboratory chemists, to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner. The incumbent will be a motivated individual with the ability to learn the analytical test methods and perform the required daily analysis.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Performs routine wet chemistry which will require experience and familiarization with Nalco Champion methods, practices and programs (analytical, performance, physical properties).
oLearns and maintains the operations, calibration and maintenance of various laboratory equipment with emphasis in ICP and IC.
oLogs in samples and help with the prioritization of work load
oMaintains workspace in clean orderly manner
oOrders lab and field supplies to maintain inventory
oInteracts with internal departments in trouble-shooting problems with hardware, testing equipment, products and method of development.
oPackages and ship hazardous /non-hazardous materials
oPromotes, practices and believes in health, safety and environmental initiatives
oPerforms miscellaneous administrative tasks
oCompiles, analyzes and correlates technical data and writes timely reports on projects completed.
Basic Qualififcations:
Two years of college or technical school in a related science.
oOne year lab experience
oGood computer skills.
oMust be medically qualified to wear a respirator.
oPhysically able to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs or a ladder, and agile enough to squat and bend over.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Ability to work independently.
Good communication skills (both written and verbal).
