Oxy is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Environmental Specialist for the Williston Business Unit based in Dickinson, North Dakota.
Assist business unit operation personnel in efforts to ensure business unit compliance with all local, state and federal environmental requirements.
Assist operations and facilities with monitoring, sampling and testing programs and activities as needed to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements.
Coordinate emergency response and remediation activity as needed. Coordinate with operations personnel, state agencies, and contractors to achieve desired cleanup standards.
Storm Water Pollution Prevention. Develop and maintain storm water related plans and inspection requirements according to state NPDES rules.
Spill Prevention Control and Counter Measure (SPCC). Develop and maintain SPCC plans as required.
Manage the Tier II annual reporting process.
Manage NORM related inspections, waste management and disposal.
Manage the Waste Management program. Coordinate with business unit personnel and contractors in the collection, storage, sampling, profiling and disposal of various waste streams.
Assist and advise operations in maintaining appropriate contracts with vendors to support regulatory and HES compliance related activity.
Participate in audits and other regulatory compliance assurance activities.
Assess impact of newly issued or revised regulations and make recommendations to business unit management as appropriate.
Review environmental impact of all new construction projects.
Develop and implement environmental awareness and training programs.
Green house gas (GHG) management, data collection and assist in reporting.
Assist and advise operations personnel in managing the various air related issues and regulations associated with flares, combustors, and operating permits.
Advocacy on behalf of the company to trade organizations and PEER groups.
Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree in technical field, preferably in engineering discipline or environmental science or equivalent related degree.
o Minimum of 5 years of experience in an environmental compliance role is required.
o Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills.
o High level of computer skills.
o Working knowledge of oil and gas operations.
Additional

Job: EnvironmentalEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
