Wildlife Biologist

This position serves as a wildlife biologist for the North Dakota Field Office. The position is advertised as a developmental position with a GS-11 full performance level. If selected at the GS-09 level, the incumbent will perform the duties of the position, with a reduced level of responsibility and/or difficulty, while receiving on-the-job trainee assignments or other appropriate training. At the full performance level, the incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of duties including, but not limited to, the following:
GS-11 Level:
Reviews the recommendations and data input from the Field/District offices on wildlife issues; works closely with the Lead Wildlife Biologist in the State Office on coordination issues with local interest groups, Tribal Councils, State agencies (e.g., Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, MT Department of Natural Resources), and other Federal agencies on matters pertaining to the impact of the application of biological decisions, habitat conservation, and laws and regulations; serves on field level interdisciplinary teams responsible for writing and reviewing field office required biological input to environmental assessments, biological assessments, development of protective stipulations, and resource management plans; and is responsible for identification of impacts to wildlife habitat by other resource activities, including large areas of Priority Habitat Management Areas for Greater Sage Grouse and Threatened and Endangered habitats. Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The position involves both field and office work. Fieldwork requires gathering samples and complete monitoring activities. The individual may be required to walk or ride in vehicles over rough terrain, performing duties that require recurring bending, crouching, stooping, reaching or lifting. Work may also include lifting of moderately heavy items, such as equipment and samples. The incumbent may be subjected to hostile wildlife, chemical, and physical hazards. In addition to meeting the basic education requirement, applicants must have specialized experience and/or directly related education of the position. In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - please be sure to include this information in your resume. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade. Specialized Experience for the GS-09 Wildlife Biologist:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in wildlife management related work. Specialized experience is defined as experience which includes the application of professional knowledge and competence in wildlife conservation or wildlife management. Examples:
planning and conducting wildlife field inventories & monitoring studies; interpreting data and assisting in preparing wildlife management plans; preparing reports; and recommending habitat management practices; OR 2 years of graduate education leading to a master's or equivalent graduate degree in wildlife biology or a directly related field; OR an equivalent combination of the type and level of experience and education described above. Only graduate level education in excess of the first year of may be combined with experience. Specialized Experience for the GS-11 Wildlife Biologist:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in wildlife management related work. Specialized experience is defined as experience which includes the application of professional knowledge and competence in wildlife conservation or wildlife management. Examples:
preparing wildlife portions of environmental assessments, analyzing surface use proposals on Threatened & Endangered Species, planning & conducting wildlife field inventories & monitoring studies, and interpreting data & preparing wildlife management plans; OR 3 years of graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in wildlife biology or a directly related field; OR an equivalent combination of the type and level of experience and education described above. Only graduate level education in excess of the first two years may be combined with experience. IN DESCRIBING YOUR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE BE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
